1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to the website owners. Cookies can be "persistent" (they remain on your device until you delete them) or "session" (they are deleted when you close your browser).
On Bibles24.com, we also use similar technologies such as local storage (in your browser) to store your preferences and favorites.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies and local storage for various purposes, including:
- Essential operation: To enable core functionality such as saving your cookie consent choice, remembering your language preference, and maintaining session information.
- Preferences: To remember your settings like text size, font, color theme, and highlighted verses in chapter pages.
- Favorites: To store verses you mark as favorite (using localStorage).
- Analytics: To understand how visitors interact with our site (only with your consent).
- Marketing: To deliver relevant advertisements (only with your consent, for future use).

We may use third-party services that place their own cookies on your device. These services include:
- Google Analytics (if implemented): To analyze site usage (requires consent).
- Ezoic / Ad networks (if implemented): To display ads (requires consent).
- Social media sharing buttons (if implemented): May set cookies when you share content.
These third-party cookies are subject to the respective providers' privacy policies. We do not control them.
5. Managing Cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by:
- Using our cookie banner: Click the "Customize" button on the cookie banner to adjust your preferences.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Please note that blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of the site.
- Clearing localStorage: You can clear localStorage through your browser's developer tools or by using the "Clear all" buttons in the app (e.g., for favorites or customizer settings).

6. Local Storage
Unlike cookies, data stored in localStorage is not automatically transmitted to our servers. It remains in your browser and is used solely to provide a personalized experience. This includes your favorite verses, highlighted verses, and display preferences. You can clear localStorage at any time via browser settings or by using the app's reset features.
We do not use localStorage to track you across websites.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about our use of cookies.
